The value of business analysis is in realization of benefits, avoidance of cost, identification of new opportunities, understanding of required capabilities and modeling the organization. Through the effective use of business analysis, we can ensure an organization realizes these benefits, ultimately improving the way they do business.”

Working with a BA

Strategy and Transformation: BAs work with client leadership to analyze industry trends, competitors and customers. We define the client business model and future strategy as well as the roadmap to achieve the desired ROI.

Requirements Definition: BAs coordinate all impacted stakeholders to clearly define the requirements for the future business. We document scope, map requirements to business processes and determine the guidelines for future implementation.

Project Implementation: BAs design the future business process, organization, and technology, coordinating solution development across all project resources.

The Skills of a BA

Communication: BAs facilitate communication across all project stakeholders, from executive sponsors to technology developers. We must communicate information according to each audience to drive maximum understanding and efficiency.

Critical Thinking: BAs are responsible for solving the problem. We must understand the desired outcome, approach the problem from all sides, and determine the feasibility and design of the best solution.

Organization: BAs coordinate the approach and execution of a project. We must organize the work breakdown structure and track all important information throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Industry Expertise: As solution owners, BAs must understand the intricacies of the industries in which we work. As we design, we must consider industry standards and trends, as well as any governing regulations.

Technical Knowledge: BAs translate business requirements into technology solutions. We must navigate modern technology to communicate requirements effectively to developers and ensure the accuracy of the final product.
